As the population is growing, the needs for individual apartments are increasing in India. But simultaneously, the increasing population is becoming a threat to the natural resources.
To preserve the natural resources and to reuse them, the builders are now moving towards the construction of green buildings.
Different state government is also promoting the construction of green buildings by giving discount in terms of property taxes. The government is also assisting the builders to install the waste management system, rain water harvesting system in the apartments in India.
According to the IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) website, there are currently 223 registered green buildings in the country.
